I had the pleasure of working with Priya for my Step 2 prep. She really takes the time to understand what issues you are facing, and takes a very systematic, methodical and understanding approach to help you overcome your shortcomings. I really benefitted from the sessions, and she redirected my efforts so they were consistent, productive and efficient. All in all, her deep understanding of the course material, along with her consistent efforts to bring out the best in you, so that you become not just a good test taker, but an excellent clinician.

This is my first session with Dr. Priya and I wish I had started a month prior.

Dr. Priya got to know me and where I am that is both as a person and my scores.
She laid out the reality and the possibilities to atttained the score I want for the specialty I plan on applying.
Her teaching method: How to answer question- she calls it the AI which basically mean read every question as though they were real patients standing in front of you and what will be your immediate course of action as a Doctor.
So from this point my mindset shifted and how I looked at question and answer question is different. She also added that after reading a question and you havent arrived at the answer in 20sec move on. She wasn't kidding. I am hopeing to get better and faster at this.

When I failed step 2, I was crushed, feeling like my journey had just come to an end and, quite frankly, feeling ready to give up. However, I thought I’d give it one last try, this time looking for help. I tried with several USMLE prep services but felt that they often felt like just more of the prep I had already been doing, just with minor supervision and tips. Then, after seeing a reddit post on r/step2, I thought I’d try out the free trial session with stepwithme, really resonating with the honesty and care demonstrated in their launch post.

Now, months and countless hours with Ayush later, I could not be happier. The mark of a good teacher is the ability to transmit information in a memorable way; the mark of a great teacher is the ability to give you passion for the subject. With Ayush, I went through many of my ‘problem area’ subjects in-depth, including OBYGN, gastroenterology, and cardiology. We’d first go through high-yield conditions and connections between them; however, rather than just briefly describing the condition, we’d discuss their clinical context and how to approach presentations in terms of pathophysiology and exam questions. Then, I’d do supervised practice questions on the topic so we could fill in any potential knowledge gaps and hammer in the high-yield topics, alongside re-enforcing not only the knowledge I learned from him but the process of approaching clinical scenarios. Of course, all this was sprinkled with brilliant mnemonics!

More than just increasing my knowledge base, at the risk of sounding hyperbolic, I feel so strongly that the experience re-ignited my zeal for medicine. I loved the experience of getting to really understand conditions for what felt like the first time and was able to really connect exam questions with clinical correlates rather than seeing them as completely distinct entities.

My experience with Dr Priya has been amazing. She is the most talented and knowledgeable doctor I ever met. She can address any topic of concern you may have at that moment and connected with associations of other topics , like the question stem . She will give you all the information you need . She has the techniques and the approach to make it easier to understand and learn to remember . At the same time she is very honest and persisting. True to her slogan, Priya really does step with you. She is professional, serious and earnest and without her help I would not have gotten a 250 score and gotten into IM residency with the stress of that time. I could really appreciate this since I paid for MedBoard tutors before I started with Priya 2 weeks later, while still continuing my MedBoard sessions. I immediately noticed the devotion and focus that Priya gave to our sessions compared to my MedBoard tutor. This is not to discourage others from using MedBoard, they offered to switch me to a different tutor, I just couldn’t afford the time when I only had 4 weeks until my exam.

With lack of study time for Step 2 and the upcoming ERAS deadline, I was panicking and Priya helped to set me on track mentally and emotionally with 4 weeks until my Step 2 exam in the first week of September.

I’m not going to say that my experience with Priya was perfect. The 1st week and a half was an adjustment period of me immersing myself in her tutoring and figuring out what was working for me and what wasn’t. Thankfully, I spoke with my friend (who introduced me to Priya) that I wasn’t fully satisfied with my tutoring sessions and she shared that her and Priya were doing something completely different from my sessions with Priya and it sounded amazing. I quickly requested Priya to conduct our sessions the same way and that’s when everything changed for me. Study styles really do matter, so I encourage you to speak earlier instead of later if something is not working for you.

Initially, Priya would just go over my completed NBME questions with me, review my incorrects, quiz me on my incorrects, and check my test taking skills so that she could teach me tips to improve them. After I made my request, she began each session with a lecture on commonly tested, high yield system-based topics while quizzing me, followed by Amboss questions from 200 concepts and step 2 blocks. I felt like I was learning and digesting much more information after changing the session structure. Below, I go into detail on exactly how Priya’s tutoring benefitted me:

1) Priya gave me a mini lecture on high yield material with each day focusing on a different system, starting with my weaknesses. This method primed my brain for the content that I would be seeing in my practice questions, while testing my understanding of the lecture. I personally study better with visuals so the note-taking she was doing was helpful and I reviewed the notes after each session.

2) During the lecture, Priya shared mnemonics, which I loved! Some stuck with me and they helped when I didn’t understand the concept yet. It was a great tool to enhance my question answering speed.

3) Priya acted like Anki for me. At the start of each session, she quizzed me on the topics from the previous sessions, which kept me on my toes and gave me a healthy dose of anxiety haha.

4) Priya asked me to discuss my thought process out loud when doing a question to check my knowledge of the content and analytical skills.

5) Even with all the other students that she is tutoring, Priya makes sure to check in on you. I remember telling her what day I would take a practice exam and she texted me to make sure I was on track. She definitely lit a fire under my butt so that I wouldn’t feel prone to procrastinate.

Cons with Priya: She is fast-paced with high expectations for the amount of questions you do, but be honest with her and she will work with you.

Hi had the pleasure of working with Priya for both my Step 1 and Step 2 exam. A couple of my friends had used her for their exams and recommended her to me. She was actually the first and only tutor I had tried but I just knew after the first session that she was the tutor I had been searching for. She went above and beyond for me both exams. I took my exams out of order aka Step 2 before taking Step 1. Right off the bat at our demo session Priya asked me what type of learner I was and what my goal score was. I'm the type of learner where I need to be actively engaged via questions and revision not just listening. Priya is perfect for that. She focused on high yield content and which allowed me to focus on the big picture while she filled in my knowledge gaps. She also gave mnemonics and easy ways for me to remember high yield content. She focused on making sure I was constantly reviewing the content we had covered and increasing the number of blocks I was doing so I could see the questions being asked in many different ways. She also works with your schedule and is super flexible. I am happy to say I landed within my goal score range with a score above 250 on Step 2. I recently took Step 1 last month and I passed it after previously failing on my first try 2 years ago. She was my biggest cheerleader and and motivator during the times where I was exhausted and scared. She made time for me even as she had to be out of the country and preparing for her wedding because she knew I was nervous. Again, above and beyond! She will get you across the finish line! My favorite saying from her was "Think like a doctor because that is what you will become" and that saying always helped me change the way I was approaching a problem. I plan on retaining her services for my Step 3 exam next year! I give her my highest recommendation!
